The native cabbage tree species, or tī koūra, was a friend to early settlers and Māori alike. Maōri have a multitude of uses for it as a first aid kit, and spiritual icon, and settlers prize it for use in their chimneys because of its' fire resistance.This artwork features the tī koūra tree carved into recycled Pōhutukawa, set on a stand, and beautifully inlaid with green glass
